Code of Ethics

Sprucely is guided by a professional code of ethics emphasizing transparency, honesty, and confidentiality. No personal information is ever shared without the Client’s express permission unless required by law.

Process Ownership & Project Outcomes

Sprucely recognizes items and the final decision on such matters as belonging solely to the Client.  Project outcomes and timeline will be determined based on Client needs.  Sprucely will work with the Client to inventory and remove donations and will recommend hauling services and schedule charity pick-ups when needed. 

Payment Terms 

Payment is due on the day of service or upon receipt of an emailed invoice. Receipts are emailed within 48 hours. Payments can be made by: Check payable to Sprucely; Credit, Debit, or Bank Transfer online through Freshbooks; or Venmo to @Sprucely. Sprucely reserves all rights to pursue payments not received in accordance with this agreement.

Supplies and Shopping Assistance 

The Client is responsible for procuring all agreed-upon supplies necessary for the completion of the project.  Sprucely will suggest necessary supplies for the Client to purchase independently or, per request, will source and purchase supplies. The rate of $75/hour, one-hour minimum, will apply for shopping and returns. The cost of purchases made on behalf of the Client will be added to the invoice and receipts will be provided upon full reimbursement.

Travel Time 

Sixty minutes of round-trip travel time from 23221 is complimentary. Additional travel time is billed at $25/hour, one-hour minimum.  Travel requiring airfare/overnight accommodations can be negotiated upon request.

Photographs

Sprucely may take photographs of spaces and items for reference. The Client’s permission will be obtained before any photos are used publicly.  The Client’s privacy and comfort are our priority.

Cancellation Policy 

Sprucely requires a minimum of 48-hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule; however, we understand that emergencies happen. Rescheduling due to illness or inclement weather that prevents safe travel or completion of the planned tasks will not incur a fee. Should last-minute cancellations become a concern, Sprucely will give notice that the next cancellation will incur a penalty of $75 per incident thereafter. Sprucely reserves the right to waive fees for special circumstances without altering or waiving any portion of this Agreement.

Liability

Sprucely and our representatives are not liable for any loss or damage to property, self, or others, or disposition of items. The Client retains full responsibility and agrees to waive subrogation against Sprucely unless gross negligence or intentional damage on behalf of Sprucely has been proven. The Client’s homeowner’s or renter’s insurance policy is the best protection for any personal belongings and we recommend checking that any rare or high-value items are covered prior to starting work with Sprucely.

Disruption of Service

The Client has the right to terminate services at any time and for any reason, as does Sprucely. The Client agrees to pay for all completed work and any other outstanding balances due at the time of termination. Sprucely agrees to refund any deposits minus any amounts due at that time. Reasons for terminating the relationship include, but are not limited to: repeated cancellations; non-payment; disruptive, threatening, or disrespectful behavior; or unsafe conditions. 

If any provision of this Agreement is held unenforceable, then such provision will be modified to reflect the parties’ intention. All remaining provisions of this Agreement shall remain in full force and effect.   

Acknowledgment

By scheduling organizing services, I am confirming that I have read, understand, and fully agree to the above terms and understand and agree that the services are being performed in accordance with the above items.
